Sterling Cattle Co. was founded in 2018 with a focus on raising high-quality Hereford cattle backed by integrity, sound genetics, and a long-term vision for excellence. From the beginning, our goal has been to build a program that emphasizes both functional cattle and breed improvement.
As our operation grows, we are increasing the use of embryo transfer to accelerate genetic progress and strengthen the consistency of our herd. This investment in reproductive technology reflects our commitment to producing cattle that meet the demands of both progressive breeders and commercial operations.
Sterling Cattle Co. is a family-owned and operated business, and our children play an active role in the daily responsibilities of the ranch. They also exhibit Hereford cattle in the show ring, gaining firsthand experience and appreciation for the breed. Their involvement represents the future of our program and the values we hold as a family.

Ranch Milestones
Established
Sterling Cattle Co. was established with a focus on raising high-quality Hereford cattle backed by integrity, sound genetics, and a long-term vision for excellence.
Rotational Grazing & Water Access
Increased our usage of pasture rotational grazing and floating water access, improving land stewardship and herd health across the operation.
Mason Starts Showing Cattle
Mason began exhibiting Hereford cattle in the show ring, marking the next generation's active involvement in the Sterling Cattle Co. program.
Maddox Starts Showing & AI Certification
Maddox joined his brother in the show ring, further strengthening the family's presence in the Hereford show circuit. That same year, we completed our AI (Artificial Insemination) Certification, expanding our reproductive capabilities and commitment to genetic advancement.
Embryo Transfer & First Lady Donor
Launched our embryo transfer program and purchased H BL First Lady from the Churchill Dispersal, adding elite genetics to our donor lineup. Mason also served as Mansfield FFA President for the 2025/2026 term.
Minka Starts Showing & Farm Family of the Year
Minka began showing cattle, and in May 2026, Sterling Cattle Co. was honored as the Sebastian County Farm Family of the Year — a proud recognition of our family's dedication to agriculture.
